My partner Jeric Pimentel and I began brainstorming our thesis "David Mills" in September of 2013. The planning and production lasted from January to August of 2014. Our shoot began in September of 2014 and we continued to work on all of the CG and VFX aspects until March of 2015.
The thesis statement of our film is "face your fear to free yourself". It's a short story about a man named David Mills, portrayed by Matthew Stannah, that is running from his biggest fear. Set in a euphoric "happy-place" environment, David is running from the beast that disrupts his conscience.
My CG responsibilities included the sculpt of the beast, uving, texturing, shading, look development, lighting and rendering, and sound design.
Our film has been featured on CGMeetUp and Itsartmag thus far with intentions of it being sent out to film festivals.
David Mills is a CG/VFX live action short film about a man that must face his fear or continue to run from it.
